Why Do You Want To Move?
Most of the sellers we represent are moving because they want to be nearer to their family. Especially grand-kids. Many of these are moving to another area, often out of state. If this sounds like you, you could have a good reason to sell now rather than later. Why put your life on
hold waiting for a different economic environment? High interest rates are probably here to stay for some time.
The Real Estate Market Has Changed
It’s true that the market is nothing like as active as it was a year or so ago, but the fact is, homes are still selling.
Yes, sale prices are down. This is true throughout the country though. So although you may not sell for as much as you could a while ago, purchase prices are also lower.
Perhaps of more concern is that homes are tending to take a little longer to sell than we have become accustomed to. Some homes are still selling within a week or so, but it’s more common to take closer to 20 days or so to get a sale agreed.
The best advice we can give to get a true picture is to follow the sales figures in this newsletter. You will see that there are fewer homes coming on the market (which means less competition for sellers), but homes are still selling. Some even sell over list price.
